Who Am I? Michelle Ireland School Nurse I am a qualified children’s nurse who is able to offer support to the pupils and staff. I previously worked at the local hospital and started school nursing in October I can help you if you have any health condition such as asthma, epilepsy and diabetes so that you can continue to attend school. I am able to liaise with other health services

What do we do? Keeping Healthy Emotional Health Weight Management Growing up talks to year 5/6 Drugs and Alcohol More Support for those who need it most We work both in and out of School to provide support around

Offering Help For Everyone Community All communities have a range of health services for children, young people and their families. School nursing services can help you find out more about local services. Universal School Nursing services provide a universal service, which means that every child and young person can get support directly from us around common health issues

And extra for those who need it Universal Plus Some children and young people need extra help from an expert. The School Nursing service can give a quick response when you need it most. Universal Partnershi Plus For young people who have more complex issues the School Nurse service provides on-going help by working with lots of different organisations such as a nearby charity or council

What Services Do We Provide? Selected health interviews at 5 or sometimes when a child moves in from outside the area. One to One appointments with a qualified nurse if needed. Updates for staff for any pupil with a complex health need. Support with emotional health, stress, family difficulties.

What Services Do We Provide? National child measurement programme in reception and year 6 (if you do not wish your child to be included you need to ‘opt out’) Growing up talks in year 5/6 according to school PSHE policy

A Confidential Service This means that you and parents can discuss personal information in confidence. We would only pass on your information in order to protect you or someone else from serious harm. Whenever possible we would discuss this with your parents/ carers first.
