Presentation transcript:

 She was born on the 12 th of July  She was born in the year 1680  Born in Salem Mass.

 She lived with her uncle, Reverend Samuel Parris, who was the town’s minister  She lived with her relatives to learn about housewifery and how to run a house  Toys and games were scarce so playing was not a big part of their childhood  Puritans saw games as sinful distractions from learning

 Very little is known about her actual biological parents  She lived with relatives instead of her mother and father  Her cousin, Elizabeth (Betty) Parris, and herself did many activities together even though games and toys were not a big part of their childhood life

 They were expected to behave under the strict code of adults: › Doing chores › Attending church services › How to properly run a house  Some children learned to read; except most households only owed the Bible and other religious works  There were very few books written for children

 Many people claim that she was a servant for her uncle, Reverend Samuel Parris  She was still pretty young during the Salem Witch Craft Hysteria, so her main job was to learn about housewifery and learn the common house work

 She was a Puritan child  Puritans believed that the Devil was real, just like they did with God  People who followed Satan were considered t be witches.  If a person committed witchcraft, they were punishable by death  Witchcraft was the biggest crime a person could commit

 Only about 11 or 12 during the trials  She was one of the prominent accuser  Betty Parris and herself, were the first two girls to exhibit erratic behaviors that were soon identified as being caused by witchcraft  In February 1692, a complaint was issued against Tituba, Reverend Samuel Parris' Indian slave, Sarah Osborne, and Sarah God for afflicting Betty, myself, and other local girls such as Ann Putnam, Jr.

 She gave a formal testimony in 7 cases  She made 41 legal complaints  She gave her last testimony on June 3 rd, 1692  After she gave her last testimony, there is no documentation on her whereabouts  Some people she made complaints about included the following: › Martha Cory, George Burroughs, Bridget Bishop, Elizabeth and John Proctor, Mary Easty, John Willard, Mary Witheridge, Rebecca Nurse, and many others.

 She died in the year of 1697  No one knows for sure what age she died at but many people believe she died around the age of 17
