Québec Soils

Wet-Climate Soils Around 80% of Quebec’s soil is Wet- Climate. Wet-Climate Soil is just as it sounds: Soil in a wet climate. In this area, precipitation (in forms of either rain or snow) occurs often and therefore, the soil is moist. Due to Quebec’s soil (mostly in the southern area’s)it has good vegetation.

Wet-Climate Soils Continued Usually Wet-Climates are Climates that have rain forests or dense forests in them. The dense forests have trees and plants pushed very close together which means that there needs to be good soil within them.

Tundra Soils Tundra soils are only in the most northern parts of Quebec. Only around 20% of the soil in Quebec is Tundra. These soils are very cold and dry because of the climate. The vegetation from the soils are usually pretty bad most likely from the temperature. The soil contains little or no minerals which let plants grow to be healthy.

Tundra Soils Continued Another factor which applies to the Tundra soils in Quebec are the 4 seasons: During the summer the soil is probably better for growing plants and crops During the winter the soil is probably very bad and does not grow much vegetation During the fall the soil can be decent but losing it’s crops And Lastly, during the spring the soil is most likely excellent.
