Famous Artworks Mona Lisa The Mona Lisa is one of Leonardo’s famous artworks. It was painted in Florence between 1503 and The painting was to represent the woman named Lisa Gherardini. It is a great resemblance to being a very realistic painting. There is lots of mystery to this painting such as why she is looking straight at the viewer but her body seems to be turning to the side. Another mystery is the reason why there are no hard simple lines because all of the lines just blend into the painting. The background of the painting was also to represent Leonardo’s view of the world.

Famous Artworks The Last Supper The Last Supper is a very important painting because it resembled the Last Supper of Christ and his 12 apostles. He made each apostle have a certain emotion that resembles how they are looking to each other and Christ himself. He called this type of art “motions of mind.” This Artwork seems as if they are all trying to find out who is going to betray Christ. It also seems as if there are two sides that look like they’re going against each other.

History and Basic Facts  Leonardo was born in 1452 and died in  Some of his artwork used science to make it much more realistic in a way.  Most of the artworks he had made are not complete. Almost 2,500 are papers that were not completed but had his many ideas.  Leonardo had never lost his curiosity or his hunger for knowledge.  Was constantly finding new ways to improve his artwork or to make new ones. He was constantly observing, experimenting, inventing, and drawing.

Homage

Reflection I really liked Leonardo Da Vinci and his artworks because he actually uses science to make his artworks. He doesn’t just draw something random, he takes time to study the laws of nature and science to make his artworks more realistic. An example is the Mona Lisa. He had studied the way that the human body looks and applied it to that artwork. He never used straight lines that would just end, those straight lines would fade away into another line which would keep the progress of the artwork going. I wish he was still alive so that I could visit him and have art lessons from him. I also would like to thank him for making the Last Supper artwork because of the religion that is behind it.
