INTERACTIVE STORYTELLING THROUGH A COMPUTER GAME -WORKING TITLE

GENRE: SCIENCE FICTION, HORROR Possible games types: Shooter Role playing Puzzle Strategy Arcade Possible platforms: PC Mobile Console

CONCEPT – ROLE PLAYING GAME User plays one main character Situation – main character wakes up confused and alone. Initially the ship seems empty… Want to explore various emotions such as fear, panic, discovery

PROPOSED APPROACH Research available software and make an informed opinion based on the requirements of the concept. Create plot, storyboards, enlist actors, animate and code game using current programming techniques.

AREAS OF WHICH I AM UNSURE Can a story be told effectively through a game? Will the user’s decisions change the outcome of the game? How will the conditional behaviour effect the game outcome? POV – first person or third person perspective? Graphics: 2D or 3D? Can the game be played across platforms? If a mobile game, will the user stick with a game to follow the plot? What game development tools will be using?
