Right Person, Right Place, Right Time 22 Purpose AF program for hiring Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom (OEF/OIF) combat-related ill and injured, medically discharged or retired Airmen as federal civilian employees Airmen are retained on active duty, if at all feasible Or Guaranteed federal civilian employment if medically separated with 30% or more disability due to illness/injuries proximate to OEF/OIF Supports Secretary of Defense initiatives Supports Secretary of Air Force initiatives

Right Person, Right Place, Right Time 33 Governing Guidelines HQ USAF/A1 letter dated 16 Feb 06 (Best Practice) Central Salary Acct (CSA) funding for 20 FTE initial authorizations Mar 2009 authorized 10 additional FTE authorizations HQ USAF/A1XC letter dated 17 May 07 Priority Placement Program (PPP) exceptions when placed on CSA CPMS letter dated 12 May 10 exception for 10 additional authorizations

Right Person, Right Place, Right Time 44 Contacts Home office (AFPC/DPSIA Wounded Warrior Case Manager Team) is alerted when medical evaluation package is processed for medical separation If Airman is interested in federal civilian employment, referral is made to Force Renewal Branch (AFPC/DPIFRB) AFPC/DPIFRB contacts (AFW2 Employment Management Team) AEMT consists of Mission Support Squadron Commander, Airman and Family Readiness Center Director, and Civilian Personnel Officer

Right Person, Right Place, Right Time 55 Scope Provides avenue for AFW2 to be placed onto a civilian job AFPC/DPS initial contact, turns over to DPIFRB for civilian opportunities AFPC/DPIFRB contacts wounded warrior to discuss employment issues, work experience and desired base for placement etc. Contacts base CPS, Wing Commander and Family Readiness for placement options and vacancy search Advises on AFW2 program, sharing established business processes outlining program requirements and responsibilities of all parties

Right Person, Right Place, Right Time 66 CSA Funding Funding CSA funding - if no local position available (18 months only authorized) w/formal extension process in place Non-CSA are placed immediately onto local position Program understanding at local installations Educating local management about the program & options for funding
