A book report by Noah Guidry Beyonders: A world without heroes by Brandon Mull

This book is a fiction book and the main characters are Jason and Rachel And they end up in another world called Lyrian and all they want to do is to go home but they can’t because the ruler of Lyrian is the evil Maldor and he is the only wizard left in Lyrian.

Since Maldor is the only wizard left in Lyrian and no other man can defeat him there is a word that they could use to destroy Maldor and that is exactly the thing that Jason and Rachel have to do and so the reader will travel with Jason and Rachel through Lyrian’s dense forests and muggy swamps for the adventure of their life.

The story begins when Jason is at work at the local zoo and he is at the hippo tank about to clean it when he hears some strange music and it seemed like it was coming from the hippo but Jason hasn’t noticed yet and so he leaned over to find where it came from and when the hippo opened its mouth he could hear it better he was astonished. Jason leaned in closer and when he did he fell in the hippo tank.

When Jason falls in he falls in the hippos mouth and is transported to a whole new world. While Jason is walking around looking for civilization he finds an old building and goes inside. When he does he finds a man filing books and so Jason suspects that he is in a library. The man lets Jason stay with him as long as he doesn’t go through the door upstairs and when he does he finds a book that looks like the cover is made of human skin and it contains the first syllable of the word that could destroy Maldor.

Jason is traveling again and this time he sees a castle and that is the place that he needs to go to so he goes inside and is in the company of the blind king and finds Rachel. The blind king sends them away to find the syllables to destroy Maldor.

Rachel and Jason already have a couple of the syllables to destroy Maldor. Jason and Rachel are in this great city named trensicourt and they have to get another syllable from there and the way they do is very cool.

The way they get the syllable is that Jason has to get into a vault but he will have to become chancellor and he does but somebody tries to kill Jason.

Jason and Rachel have all of the syllables they had to go to the swamp run across a lake and escape a death trap. Now Jason is on his way to say the word in front of Maldor but when he does Maldor is still there and Jason is put in jail and while he is there he finds out that the word was a hoax. But Jason is set free by a friend that betrayed them and is sent back home.

I definitely recommend this book. It is a thriller you don’t know what is going to happen next. It is one of the best books I have ever read.
