Presentation transcript:

What do you think today’s lesson is about?

We are learning today about stranger danger All pupils will reflect on the danger that strangers can pose Most pupils will understand the different between an emergency and non-emergency crime and will know which phone number to call Some pupils will consider the risks people make when they trust strangers and what could potentially happen

Episode Two: ‘Two’s Company’ What happened? Stanley – taking expensive equipment without permission Internet safety? Gang culture – damaging Stanley’s bike and taking his camera Zoe getting in a strangers car Stanley and the penknife – what do you think he will do?

Volunteers to play Zoe! Rest of class need to create a large circle so that ‘Zoe’ can walk past each person and receive some advice! A car has just pulled up and has called out to her on the pavement. Should she go over? Zoe has walked over to the car and someone is asking her to help them with directions, it’s raining and they ask would they like to get in the car?

Get Thinking... What should you do if you think a car is following you? What should you do if a stranger has asked you to get into their car? What should you do if you see a friend in a stranger’s car? Should you ever give a stranger personal information about where you live?

Lets role play! I want you to imagine Joe hadn’t turned up, what might have happened next? Work out a script with your partner. Be prepared to share ideas with the class!

This is the number for your local police station. If you have a phone, get it out and save the number (for non-emergency use) In an emergency we call 999, what are some examples of non-emergencies? What is a non-emergency crime? A crime that does not require the immediate attendance of police officers

Plenary Who can explain what Zoe should have done when the car pulled over in the clip? You are Joe, what advice would you give to Zoe for in the future? Who can give two examples of a crime that would require calling 999? Who can give two examples of a crime that would not require calling 999?
