Bhagavad Gita Chapter 2, Verse 47; You have the right to work only, Motto "Karmanyevadhikaraste“ Bhagavad Gita Chapter 2, Verse 47; You have the right to work only, but never to its fruits

Introduction Coursed Offered Any subject of study needs justification: its advocates must explain why it is worth attention. History should be studied because it is essential to individuals and to society. In the first place, history offers a storehouse of information about how people and societies evolve. Understanding the operations of people and societies is difficult, though a number of disciplines make the attempt. An exclusive reliance on current data would needlessly handicap our efforts. How can we evaluate war if the nation is at peace—unless we use historical materials? history must serve, however imperfectly, as our laboratory, and data from the past must serve as our most vital evidence in the unavoidable quest to figure out why our complex species behaves as it does in societal settings. This, fundamentally, is why we cannot stay away from history: it offers the only extensive evidential base for the contemplation and analysis of how societies function, and people need to have some sense of how societies function.History helps us understand change and how the society we live in came to be. The History (Honors) course covers human civilization since time immemorial to recent  times. An honors course in History enables students to pursue career in Administration, Civil Services, Journalism, Mass Communication, Teaching, Research Archaeology and Museology. Our faculty members are specialists in their relevant fields and guide students in their academic as well as overall personality development. The department also offers an Application Course on Tourism for B.A. (Prog.) III yr students. Coursed Offered B.A Honors B.A Program

Teachers Activities There is a department meeting held at the end of every month to asses and discuss various issues such as course, curriculum, students, workload and any other issues related to the department. There are emergent meetings too if required. The senior faculty members of department attend and communicate and exchange their opinions and suggestions for effective execution of the curriculum as they strongly believe in a dynamic teacher-taught relationship on a consistent and continuous basis. The faculty is allowed to submit their choice of the subject before the commencement of the session to make the teaching more interest based for the faculty too based on a very democratic process. All the faculty members recommend the latest books for their subjects to the college library. There is a functional Department library which is updated time to time to help the student procure the books easily according to the syllabus.
