Consider the following questions Have you thought about what you want to do in life? Have you thought about what it takes to get there? Have you computed the cost of living? Will the job (that you envision) meet the cost of living? Explain. RespectResponsibility Safe Take out your Chromebook Download this PowerPoint and use it as your notes

Let’s answer one question at a time Google: “Labor Bureau Statistics” – Select “Students” tab >> “Student Resources” Click on “Student Resources” icon >> Select “Career Exploration” >> Now choose the Career that you plan to achieve – List the top 3 jobs you would like to do. RespectResponsibility Safe

For each job you identified, list the requirements. Where are these jobs? Do you have to move? RespectResponsibility Safe

Let’s start on some computations Make a rough budget of what your cost of living will be. – List the items you will have to be financially responsible for in life. Example: Rent/Mortgage, Food, Electricity, Automobile, Insurance, etc. – List a dollar amount each of the items above will cost you in a month. – Calculate your cost of living for the year. RespectResponsibility Safe

List the salary for each of the jobs you selected. Will your job satisfy your cost of living expenses? Did you pay taxes? Adjust as necessary. RespectResponsibility Safe

Today’s College Prep Period may not give you enough time to explore or answer all four questions. Use your Chromebook wisely – Revisit the website – Look into different career paths – Consider what you need to do in order to achieve it – Then put your actions together NOW!
