 READ- WRITE- THINK Analyzing the prompt.  Expository graphic organizer  Introduction, Body and Conclusion  Activity- Read various expository articles to break down the parts of an essay.  Thesis

 RAFTS  What is the ROLE of the writer? 1 st person, 2 nd person, or 3 rd person  Who is your AUDIENCE? STAAR trained readers  What is the FORMAT of the essay? Expository  What is the TOPIC of the essay? Why is it sometimes necessary to take a chance?  What is the STRONG VERB for the essay? Explain

 Circle, Box, Underline  This helps visual learners and sets a pattern.  Circle all verbs.  Box nouns and ? words: (who, what, when, where, why)  Underline the topic.  Write down for organization. Write Explaining why It is sometimes necessary to take a chance

 Sum up the entire writing piece.  Rephrase the thesis  Tie back to the central idea.  Universal truth or Truism
