The Steps to a Blessed Life

Gospel of St. Matthew 5:3-10

The Sermon on the Mount

THE EIGHT BEATITUDES OF JESUS 1. "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 2.Blessed are they who mourn, for they shall be comforted. 3.Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. 4.Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

5. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. 6. Blessed are the pure of heart, for they shall see God. 7. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God. 8. Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."

James 4:6 “Therefore it says, "God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” Proverbs 11:2 “When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humility is wisdom and honor.”

Matthew 9:36 “When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.”

Matthew 10:16 "Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and gentle as a doves.”

Matthew 6:14-15 “For if you forgive others their sins, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their sins, neither will your Father forgive your sins.” Matthew 7:12 “Treat others as you want them to treat you. This is what the Law and the Prophets are all about. (Therefore, whatever you want people to do for you, do the same for them, because this summarizes the Law and the Prophets.") Galatians 6:7 “Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.”
