Meghana Chaganti Junior, Class of 2017 Position desired: Secretary Leadership Experience:  Fresh Connect Mentor  Co-founder of a private tutoring service  Helped organize a medical seminar  Leader in many group projects in school 3 Words to Describe You: 1.Determined 2. Helpful 3. Organized Service Experience:  Unicef  hours at Aurora Public Library  Naperville Settlement  Feed My Starving Children  Science Fair Judge  Volunteer at Owen Elementary School  Member of Key Club for 3 years and counting  Little Blossom Montessori Teaching assistant Why do you want to be an officer? I received a very fun filled experience in Key Club. I learned not only the importance of serving the community but also the value of being a leader. I hope to pass this message on to future members! How are you going to get members motivated about service? By collaborating with the rest of the board, I hope to provide fun ways to allow for regular participation. I also hope to open up new volunteering opportunities that cater to a wider spectrum of interests.

I would like to be an officer for many reasons. One of them being to improve my leadership skills. However, the most important reason for why I want to be an officer this year is because I really enjoy being a part of Key Club and I want to be more involved in Key Club. I also really enjoy serving others and being an officer will help me with all of these things. How are you going to get members motivated about service? I am going to get members motivated about service by explaining to them the benefits of service and the positive impact volunteering has on the society. I will also get members motivated by creating an atmosphere where serving is enjoyable and not a burden.

I would get members motivated about service by helping to get students to pitch their own ideas and start their own projects, since this will allow everyone to get to serve for something they are passionate about.

I love participating at key club events like feed my starving children and service movie nights, but I would love to play a bigger role in the club and its service projects. How are you going to get members motivated about service? I think that key club should have more feed my starving children volunteer nights because I know my friends and I love participating at these. It would help members see that key club is about giving up your time for others less fortunate, but also about having fun with your friends. Hopefully, this would help members become more active.

Additionally I want to make more people aware about Key Club, and the difference all of us can make in our community. How are you going to get members motivated about service? I will get members motivated by spreading the message of Key Club, which is a great one, and will attract more people to join. Also, I will advertise the club, and get more people to join.
