Preparing for Fieldwork How Do We Act (React) in the Field?

Question 3 You are on your way home and all of the drivers in the vehicle are over-tired. You have decided to continue to drive. You have an accident – what do you do? Short answer: Contact the police; Contact the person in charge of the project; Contact Risk Management (even if only to leave a message). Directly from the U Risk & Insurance Mgmt website (Accident Form): 1. Stop Immediately. Keep calm and be courteous. 2. Turn on your Emergency flashers. 3. Send for help. Don’t go yourself. Have someone call police. 4. Give reasonable help to injured. Do not move injured persons if likely to cause additional injury. 5. Immediately notify U Risk & Insurance Mgmt at Obtain and record all the facts on this accident report. 7. Submit a copy of this form to U Mtr Pool (Bldg. 309) & U Risk Mgmt (408 Park). 8. Do not make a statement of any kind to any other person than police or a representative of the University of Utah.
