Presentation transcript:

William is a kid who is sad because his nanny ( Mrs. Phillips ) is leaving back to her home land, England. He is sad because she won’t come back she might visit the house but she isn’t going to live there anymore. He really doesn’t want her to leave. Mrs. Phillips gives William a present. It is a big castle. It comes with a small silver knight. ( Sir Simon ) She shows it to him inside the attic. He keeps the castle up in the attic.

The next day, when William goes in the attic, He gets the box that the silver knight is in. he opens the box, and picks up the silver knight. When he picks up the silver knight the knight comes to life. William screams the drops the knight. He rushes down the attic steps. “ It must of not been alive, I must of imagined it.” He thought. He went back up into the attic. He picks up the silver knight again. He says to the knight, “ Are you ok?” The knight opens his mouth and says something. “Can you say that again?” he shouts. The little knight covers his ears. “ Sorry, didn’t mean to shout,” William says. The knight yells, “ My name is Sir Simon, What have you done with Alastor?” Who’s Alastor?” William asks. “Are you a friend or a foe? I am not frightened by your size, my good sir, and I will fight you with every ounce of strength left in me, if that be your wish,” said the knight. William stifled a giggle.

He was being threatened by a miniature man waving a pin- sized knife! “ It might be easier to fight me standing up, my lord, although I don’t doubt your strength or courage. William asks “ What happened and why are you alive?” “ You must of broke Alastor’s spell.” Sir Simon explained. “But wait where is the magic token? I snatched it from Alastor before he spoke the words.” William tells Sir Simon about Mrs. Phillips, and how he doesn’t want her to leave. William needs to go on an adventure to help Sir Simon defeat Alastor, and save Mrs. Phillips. Read this book to find out what happens to Mrs. Phillips and Sir Simon. If you like The Castle in the Attic, I suggest you read The Battle for the Castle.

About The Author Elizabeth Winthrop is the author of more than 60 works of fiction for all ages. Elizabeth has written books for kids all ages ( Castle in the Attic, Counting on Grace, and Dumpy La Rue), novels for adults ( In My Mother’s House and Island Justice ).
