Alachua County Forever Notice of Grant Requirements River Styx Tract April 9, 2013

River Styx Tract North American Wetlands Conservation Act (NAWCA) funded by USFWS Alachua County has partnered in 4 phases of the North Florida Wetlands Conservation Project resulting in $1million for each phase for the partners A match of cash (50%) or land is required. Alachua County received $1 million for Whitehurst (Phase 2) Previous Match Tracts: Perry, Barr Hammock

River Styx Tract Phase 3 brings $550,000 to Fowler’s Prairie, adjacent to ACT/Alachua County’s Little Orange Creek and City of Hawthorne’s LOCCHEC complex. Protects headwaters of Orange Lake No cost to the County Many stakeholders and partners: Alachua Conservation Trust, Conservation Trust for Florida, Putnam Land Conservancy, Hawthorne, Friends of Little Orange Creek SJRWMD meeting in April to approve Notice on R. Styx
