Your Role as Content Editor Make a content plan (see Guidelines pages 31–35) Focus on what makes the Section’s content unique: experience in the trenches Find authors and keep them on track Edit content Assist staff in posting/publication Repeat

Resources for Developing Content and Finding Authors Your committee’s leadership – cochairs and subcommittee chairs Members of your committee Your assigned staff editor CMC members

Written Resources to Help CMC Content Guidelines pages 15–17, 25–28 Editor Resource Center (via Leadership Portal: ourcecenter.html) Content that’s already published – Look for authors to “hit up” again – Look for content ideas that can be approached from a new perspective, expanded on, or revised

Publication Process Publication plan: What do you need to accomplish? Consult with cochairs regarding member benefits schedule Solicit authors, find topics, set schedule, and meet content expectations (see Guidelines) Edit content Obtain copyright forms; generate required collateral submission information Submit to staff editor per schedule with the required collateral information
