MOBY DICK  Purpose of Moby Dick:  Can we even get to ~10 ppb O 2 and H 2 O?  What other things in Moby will cause loss of LAr purity? Eye Spout TailMOBY DICK Modeled By LNG Tank (Will be detector structure)

 Argon Piston  Exchange a few Volumes  Recirculate and Filter to <10 ppb  Take purified gas and add to Luke  Hopefully do not lose PrM signal!! The Cleaning Process Inlet Outlet Argon Gas Ambient Air O 2 & H 2 O Filters Argon Cleaner Argon

Internal O 2 meters Relay rack for instrumentation. Argon supply. Baseline of 1 ppm O2, 1-2 ppm N2, and 2 ppm H2O. Various power Supplies DAQ The Plan And It’s Implementation

To argon dewar. Allows to test dewar gas. To AO2 and hygrometer To N2 meter. To DF-310. To DF-560. Allows to test filtered gas. Oxisorb filter. Inlet to MD.Outlet for recirculation. Bellows pump for recirculation. Mass Flow Controller Outlet from top of MD. Some Details

Summary of Work  Oxygen  Concentrations can be quickly reduced through purging and/or recirculation.  Sticks to walls; estimated time constant of 140 hours. Limiting factor in obtaining UHP.  Water  Some confusion.  Sticks to walls; estimated time constant of 100 hours.  Nitrogen  Experimental N2 meter is still experimental.  Some progress was made, however. Realized that water content in sample gas affects arc.  Close to getting usable data.  Mention transfer to Luke.
