MENTAL EazyMcSqueezy.com v16.1

DENIAL EazyMcSqueezy.com v16.1

WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME? Your body has changed how it processes food. You may have changed your eating habits. You may have changed your exercise. Other, unknown factors may have caused a change. EazyMcSqueezy.com v16.1

HOW IS MY LIFE GOING TO CHANGE? Do nothing and eventually you will have problems. You need to be aware of what is happening. You need to actively seek information. You need to anticipate change. Diabetes is a “known” disease, nothing to hide, become informed and take action. EazyMcSqueezy.com v16.1

WILL IT EVER GO AWAY? Diabetes is a change in your body’s processing of food. It will not go away, so you need to keep monitoring your blood sugar levels. Actions by you can reduce the effect of diabetes. EazyMcSqueezy.com v16.1

WHAT CAN I DO? Become informed about Diabetes. Know the trouble signs of high and low blood sugar. Tell those close to you so they can take the appropriate action if necessary. Do not deny that this condition exists. EazyMcSqueezy.com v16.1

CAN I IGNORE IT? You can ignore it because only long term effects cause pain. You can ignore it because only when your blood sugar is too high or too low do you feel the affect. You can ignore it because it is an internal disease, not like a cut or broken arm. EazyMcSqueezy.com v16.1

WHO IS MOST CONCERNED ABOUT YOU? YOU – you are around yourself 24-7, every day. VA Doctor – is concerned when you have an appointment, but... At 30 minutes per appointment they probably see 15 patients per day. At 5 days per week they probably see 75 patients per week. At 4.5 weeks per month they probably see 337 patients per month With 6 months between appointments they have seen about 2,022 patients YOU – have to take responsibility for yourself, your actions and making sure others are aware of what you need. EazyMcSqueezy.com v16.1

WHAT I DID TO GET ORGANIZED Take daily mg/dl readings. Weigh myself once a week, always about same time, same clothes. Measure myself once a month. Review my tracking numbers once a month. Keep myself involved with my health. EazyMcSqueezy.com v16.1

CAN IT GET PAINFUL? – PAIN SCALE 0 = Pain Free 1 = Very minor annoyance, occasional minor twinges 2 = Minor annoyance, occasional strong twinges 3 = Annoying enough to be distracting 4 = Can be ignored if you are really involved with your work/task, but still distracting 5 = Cannot be ignored for more than 30 minutes 6 = Cannot be ignored for any length of time, but you can still go to work & participate in social activities 7 = Makes it difficult to concentrate, interferes with sleep but you can still function with effort 8 = Physical activity is severely limited. You can read and talk with effort. 9 = Unable to speak, crying out or moaning uncontrollably, near delirium 10 = Unconscious, pain makes you pass out EazyMcSqueezy.com v16.1
