SIFPO and Marie Stopes International Simon Cooke CEO, MSI

Marie Stopes International Our Mission: Children by Choice, not Chance Our Vision: A World Where Every Birth is Wanted. Our Approach: Putting the Client First, Advocate by Doing Marie Stopes International2

The Catalytic Impact of SIFPO on MSI Delivery – 8 mn more FP users and 10mn CYP’s Marie Stopes International3 29.2m CYPs 18.1m FP users 19.3m CYPs 10m FP users

MSI added 2.25mn additional FP adopters since the 2012 Family Planning Summit. Mobile outreach clients-served doubled from 2011 to 2014 to 4mn. By 2014, two-thirds of our clients live on <$2.50/day, and 37% were new FP adopters. MSI received 34 USAID awards as prime or sub-partner since 2010 Marie Stopes International4 The Catalytic Impact of SIFPO on MSI Delivery –

Enabling us to deliver equity and choice, and better uptake of long-acting methods. Example: Sub-Saharan Africa Marie Stopes International5

..And make breakthroughs in supporting youth aged Marie Stopes International6 MSI Clients Total FP Users

2014 was our biggest year of Impact, with over 3 mn more clients and 4.5mn more CYP’s Marie Stopes International7

SIFPO has enabled us to increase our FP2020 pledge (when others are backing off!) Marie Stopes International8 Doubling our FP commitment: new users

SIFPO + Our Partners Have Got Us This Far…. But we cannot stop here. Marie Stopes International9 Lowest possible cost + high efficacy = greater sustainability and access. Commodities are never ‘free’. Someone must pay, and today commodity needs are not adequately reflected in budget planning. We must be prepared to invest in stimulating markets, governments and health insurance to take on the long term ownership of enforcing reproductive rights. Finite resources mean tough choices about where to play to achieve most lasting impact.

Marie Stopes International10 MSI’s sustainability commitment “no woman who has been given access to contraception provision will ever be denied it again”
