Executive Summary-Schenectady County Schenectady was the most urban of the Capital Region(CR)counties (S pop./square mile; CR-274.7). Schenectady had the 2 nd lowest median age of all CR counties (S-39.9; CR- 40.2). Hamilton Hill neighborhood had the highest pop yrs. of age at 32.4% (S-18.5%); Scotia-Glenville had the highest pop. 65+ yrs. of age at 19.6% (S-15.0%). Schenectady had the 2 nd highest % Nonwhite pop. of all CR counties (S-20.2%; CR-14.9%), and the highest % Hispanic pop. (S-6.0%; CR-4.4%). Hamilton Hill (67.0%) had the largest Nonwhite pop. and the largest Hispanic pop. (18.3%).

Of the County neighborhoods, Hamilton Hill (32.4%) had the highest percent of the population 0-14 years of age and Scotia-Glenville (19.6%) had the highest percent of the population 65+ years of age. Schenectady had higher Non-White (20.2%) and Hispanic (6.0%) populations compared to the Capital Region (14.9% and 4.4% respectively). The Hamilton Hill neighborhood had the largest Non- White (67.0%) and Hispanic (18.3%) populations of the Schenectady County neighborhoods.
