All About Plants Mrs. Peterson First Grade C.P. Lightfoot

Plants are everywhere. They live on land, water and in the air.

Plants are living things.

Plants need water, light and air to grow.

There are 3 main parts of a plant. Sometimes there are 4.

Most plants have roots, stems and leaves.

Some plants have flowers.

Flowers make the seeds that grow into new plants.

Roots grow into the soil. They take water and food to the plant.

Stems carry water from the roots to the other parts of the plant.

Leaves use the light to make food for the plant.

Can you name the parts of the plant?

Do you remember what each part does?

What are the three things plants need to grow?
