Each part of the plant has a different job to carry out.

6. The Roots
The job of the root is to take up water and nutrients from the soil up into the plant.

7. The Stem
The job of the stem is to support the plant and keep it upright.

8. Leaf
The leaf soaks up sunlight for the plant. Sunlight is needed to help the plant make food.

9. The Flower
The flower’s job is to attract insects to the plant.

Leaves use light, air, water, and nutrients to make food for the plant.

Flowers are brightly coloured to attract insects.
