Project Outline In this project, we wanted to make a channel or blog to teach other people about a topic. We chose tumblr, a blogging website, to teach people about Pokemon. We started by making videos to introduce our project Then, we made video guides and uploaded them. We also made written guides. We tagged and posted everything we did so people could learn from our project

Expected Learning Larissa expected to learn more about Pokemon since she knew almost nothing. Megan expected to learn more about running a blog and helping other people. We both expected to learn about making tutorials and sharing them, since we had never done anything like this before.

Actual Learning Larissa learned how to make blog entries. We both learned about how to share guides by tagging them so a community of people can find them. We also learned how to use a tiny bit of HTML to make an appealing blog so people think it looks good, since that’s part of Tumblr’s theme. We both learned what we set out to, because Larissa learned more about our topic, Pokemon, and Megan learned more about making tutorials.

Challenges We had a few challenges with this project It was hard to find a quiet place to film, we once walked to about 10 places before finding a good place, but we kept looking Setting up the tripod was hard, because the angle to record the video almost made it fall over. We held the tripod so it didn’t fall We had a challenge with the 3DS screen being too small, which we fixed in our later videos by cropping the screen Despite these challenges we still managed to make 3 video guides and 2 written guides.

Success? We think we had success with this project. At first we set out to make a guide on how to go through the whole game, but we realized that would take way too long. It may have even been 70+ videos. Instead, we made our guides about other things in the game that may not have been as well known We think our videos and guides were a success even if they weren’t the exact goal we had

Participation Both Megan and Larissa participated in this project Larissa was the person who was in the videos, so she did the playing and the filming Megan edited the videos and taught Larissa about the blog so the videos got shared and uploaded. We could have used our time a little more effectively, because when Megan wasn’t here we didn’t have the game and we couldn’t play, and when Larissa wasn’t here she couldn’t record the videos We definitely tried to finish this project
