Hand washing Even if you are wearing gloves, wash your hands before leaving the laboratory and periodically while working. Prevent transfer of chemicals to other parts of the body That penetrated through gloves From contaminated protective clothing Safeguard against exposure to toxic chemicals or biological agents If taking break from lab work, wash your hands Getting a drink Going into the office Eating lunch Going to a different laboratory or characterization facility Using the restroom Laboratory Safety.
