WARM-UP Landforms PRE-TEST – This is for you & I to see how much you already know about landforms. – Write the letter in the space provided – You will have 8 minutes to match the landforms with their definitions

Landforms- a feature of the earth’s surface

Basin Area of land drained by a given river and its branches; area of land surrounded by lands of higher elevations.

Bay Part of a large body of water that extends into a shoreline, generally smaller than a gulf

Delta Flat, low- lying land built up from soil carried downstream flows from its source to its mouth.

Gulf Part of a large body of water that extends into a shoreline, generally larger and more deeply indented than a bay.

Set up Foldable for mini project Looking at your manila paper in “Landscape”, you will fold your paper in half Open it up, then fold each end into the midline crease that was just made Open the paper, which will now have 3 creases Down the sides, make a mark every 1.5” for a total of 5 marks on each side – 1.5” – 3” – 4.5” – 6” – 7.5” Use a ruler to connect corresponding dots Fold the paper in half again, then cut out the line ONLY to first crease IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, ASK!!! – I have an example.

How to Step 1: hold your paper LANDSCAPE

How to Step 3: fold outer edges into middle & crease well

How to Step 4: measure on both sides of paper & make a mark every 1.5 inches (1.5, 3, 4.5, 6, 7.5)

How to Step 5: connect corresponding marks

How to Step 6: fold paper “hamburger” style again, this time with the lines out

How to Step 7: cut paper along line ONLY to 1 st crease

How to Step 8: fold cut edges in to middle crease making sure lines are on inside & label with 12 landforms in alphabetical order

How to Step 9: on the inside flap, you will write the definition of each landform
