4 ARCHIPELAGO A large group or chain of islands

5 BAY Part of a body of water that reaches into the land.

36 STRAIT a narrow passage of water connecting two seas or two large areas of water

37 STREAM and (Creek) Stream - a natural flow of water that is smaller than a river Creek – a small stream

38 TIMBERLINE A point on a mountain above which trees cannot grow. timberline

39 TRIBUTARY A small stream of water that flows through the land feeding into a river

40 Valley Low land between hills or mountains

41 VOLCANO A mountain formed of rock thrown up from inside the earth. 4 types: extinct, dormant, intermittent, and active

42 WATERFALL a place where water flows over a vertical drop in the course of a stream or river.
