Latin American Ethnicities

Read Page 32 in the CRCT Prep Book

Mesitizos Europeans and Indigenous American They make up the majority of the population in Columbia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, and Venezuela.

Mulattoes Europeans and Africans Mostly descended from Spanish and Portuguese settlers and African slaves during the colonial period. The vast majority of mulattoes are found in Brazil, Dominican Republic, Cuba, and Colombia

Zambos Indigenous American and Africans Slaves often ran away and were taken in by Indigenous American villagers. This was especially prevalent in Columbia, Venezuela, and Brazil.
