ATTEND FOR SUCCESS ATTEND FOR SUCCESS

EVERY DAY COUNTS IN RIVERSIDE UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT!

Regular Attendance is Essential for Success in School!

Someone is Not Learning...

Regular School Attendance is Important TO EACH STUDENT. Students who are frequently absent: miss important learning opportunities fall behind in school subjects fail to catch up with other students are at a higher risk of dropping out

Regular School Attendance is Important TO THE OTHER STUDENTS IN CLASS. Students who are frequently absent require more individual attention from the teacher to get information they missed. This may take time away from other students.

Regular School Attendance is Important TO THE SCHOOL & DISTRICT State financial support for schools is directly linked to school attendance. When students are absent, the school loses money it can use to purchase books, instructional materials, classroom supplies, etc.

Regular School Attendance is Important TO THE COMMUNITY Studies show that communities with high levels of school attendance have fewer day time crimes and lower first time drug use.

Regular School Attendance Increases Achievement in School! School provides students with instruction and engagement in reading which promotes success throughout their entire educational experience. Their future depends upon their ability to read well!

SCHOOL EXPECTATIONS Each healthy student is expected to be in school, on time, every day!

PARENT EXPECTATIONS When parents expect their child/children to be in school every day, school attendance and achievement is high. Studies show that when students know that their parents have high expectations for them in school, they perform better.

Education is the KEY to a good future. Attendance is one of the KEYS to a good education.

Discussion Question... What suggestions do you have to make parents aware of the importance of school attendance?

For More Information... Contact your school regarding specific attendance programs and activities offered at the school.

Thank you for your assistance in promoting regular school attendance for your children!
