Goal Setting by Peter Radizeski (with help from others)

“A dream is just a dream. A goal is a dream with a plan and a deadline.” -Harvey Mackay

n Goals keep us focused on a purpose.

Goals n Goals help us through difficult times when many others less motivated would give up.

n The WHY is very important. n WHY is what Motivates us.

BHAG n Big Hairy Audacious Goal! n A clear, compelling mission. n Going to the Moon and back in 10 years.

BHAG

Questions to Ask Yourself 1. What do I want to Finish? 2. What do I want to Change? 3. What do I want to maintain? 4. What do I want to stop doing? 5. What do I need to do?

Areas to Set Goals (yes, you have to plan for Happiness & fun)

Work ON your business, not just IN it.

n What are you willing to do beyond what you're currently doing to achieve that? n What are you willing to give up in order to achieve that? (Old beliefs, ineffective actions, ways of being, diversionary tactics, etc.) n Who do you need to be to achieve this? Keith Rosen on Goals

Gary Vee says: 1. What do you expect to happen? 2. And what do you WANT to happen? 3. Where’s your Passion to Crush it?

It’s About Results 1. What do I want to Achieve? 2. How do I get from where I am now to where I want to be? 3. Write down the “WHY" for each of them.

n Goals are a way to ignite lasting change in yourself (and others). –The WHY = Motivation

Well, It’s Really About Action

Daily Activity 1. Goals 2. Plan of Action 3. Work the Plan 4. Daily Activity

How Does that Fit into Sales?

In Sales: n Sales Planning n Have to have Sales Goals! n Revenue Goal. n Top 25 Prospects. n Break it down. n Education. n Performance review benchmark.

 State each goal as a positive statement.  Be precise: set a precise goal, putting in dates, times and amounts so that you can measure achievement.  Write goals down: this crystallizes them and gives them more force. Setting Goals Effectively The following broad guidelines will help you to set effective goals:

 Set realistic goals: it is important to set goals that you can achieve.  Do not set goals too low: just as it is important not to set goals unrealistically high, do not set them too low.  You should set goals so that they are slightly out of your comfort zone, but not so far that there is no hope of achieving them. Size Matters

Goals are supposed to: STRETCH Us and help us Grow!

Goals are supposed to: Allow us to develop new skills. (and improve old ones.)

There’s No Failure Even with consistent Effort, you made not hit all your goals. That’s OKAY!

“Life is not linear. Be mindful of your goals and dance along the Way!” - Keith Rosen

“The greatest reward in becoming a millionaire is not the amount of money that you earn. It is the kind of person that you have to become to become a millionaire in the first place.”
