What has been the most common difficulty for you when implementing a digital project?

The inability to respond to specific trust needs, without incurring substantial additional costs. Getting funding to develop an e health project Securing funding to purchase the mobile devices to support the pilot implementation review process Deciding whether to use one pathway or one clinical area. Engaging everyone who will need to go digital NHS bureaucracy, contracting processes and the internal market Getting commitment from GPS and making sure it is adequately resourced at a medical level The inability to respond to specific trust needs, without incurring substantial additional costs. Have you experienced any barriers when moving from traditional channels to digital?

Yes, IT dept have put up many barriers i.e. confidentiality, security etc. Mostly in relation to patient confidentiality and NHS IT/e-health restrictions very risk averse Uploading existing assessment sheets A pre-occupation with data security above all else with blanket rules applied when it is patently not a case of 'one size fits all'. Security should be proportionate to the data being handled and control largely handed to the data subjects not dictated centrally Poorly communicate changes which also include lack of consultations with the clinicians that are required to use them. Unwillingness of suppliers to risk share Yes, IT dept have put up many barriers i.e. confidentiality, security etc. Mostly in relation to patient confidentiality and NHS IT/e-health restrictions very risk averse Uploading existing assessment sheets A pre-occupation with data security above all else with blanket rules applied when it is patently not a case of 'one size fits all'. Do you have a digital service issue that you would like the audience to help you tackle?

Getting IT support and management Social media / patient confidentiality and safety, how we can embrace social media in the NHS but still protect vulnerable mental health adults It is proposed to allow patients to view and write in their own notes, how will this be done? In an open and transparent structure, where duty of candour plays an important part, should medical records only be accessible from other organisations by request? Often taking hours or days to obtain, when time is usually of the essence. Chronic disease management - COPD, asthma and diabetes and developing pathways that use digital technology to help patients self-manage Getting IT support and management Social media / patient confidentiality and safety, how we can embrace social media in the NHS but still protect vulnerable mental health adults It is proposed to allow patients to view and write in their own notes, how will this be done? What is the key benefit you would like to gain from the conference?

Networking and connecting with other AHP clinicians who are using digital services as therapy not just health monitoring Find out what is going on and ensure patients/user views are being taken into account Networking with others who are trying to push forward the agenda on connected healthcare A greater awareness of the technology available to health care and how it has been used, including both the positives and challenges. Is there a digital service idea you would like the audience to consider?

Difficulty progressing with an e health project due to lack of funds or support from within organisation Service user input to this work Use of diagnostic and prognostic algorithms directly by patients - we have a good example on carpal-tunnel.net which could be more widely used, but I'm sure there are others The area of an integrated chronic disease pathway Difficulty progressing with an e health project due to lack of funds or support from within organisation Service user input to this work Use of diagnostic and prognostic algorithms directly by patients - we have a good example on carpal-tunnel.net which could be more widely used, but I'm sure there are others The area of an integrated chronic disease pathway
