7-2 multiplying and dividing rational expressions

 Homework: p 388/389 (1-37) odd

 Another way to write a radical expression is with a rational exponent:

 homework: p (1-47) odd, except 27 and 29

 Warm Up

 A radical equation is an equation that has a variable in a radicand (or variable with a fractional exponent.)  If the radical has index 2, the equation is a square root equation.  To solve a radical equation, isolate the radical expression, then raise both sides of the equation to the same power.

 page 400 (1-29) odd

 find f(g(x)) and g(f(x))

 Since an inverse exchanges x values with the y values, to find an inverse of an equation you can interchange x and y, and then solve the equation for y.

 Find the inverse for each function.

 homework  page 406 (1-11, 23-41) odd  page 416 (5-21) odds – only find the inverse functions, you do not need to graph these
