Barnet is a growing, but not at a uniform rate  Barnet is London’s most populous borough home to 367,265 residents in 2015  By 2030, the Barnet population is projected to reach 417,573  Colindale and Mill Hill are projected to rise by a further 79.4% (17,917) and 24.1% (4,875) respectively  Whereas Golders Green is projected to experience the highest rate of growth (113.9% (21,625)), making it the most populous Ward Source: GLA Projections 2013

Community safety in Barnet  Falling Crime rates: from a peak of over 35,000 crimes in 2005, to under 25,000 in the year to February 2014  High rate of residential burglary: Barnet has the 5 th highest rate of Residential burglary out of the 32 London boroughs  Violent assaults (ABH and GBH) have the greatest associated costs, accounting for 29% of the total costs, despite making up just 6.5% of the offences. Pockets of deprivation exist throughout the borough  Barnet is the 10th least deprived borough across London; a slight increase from 2010 where it ranked 9th.  Despite Barnet being a relatively affluent borough, there are pockets of deprivation located throughout the borough.
