Within The Department Start with grad students, new faculty, and the easy to convert Send to workshops, develop workshops, lesson study, open classrooms, ect Need strong teaching professional development for graduate students Need great teachers as lab managers for leading TAs in inquiry Search committees look for education experience (specifically active learning) Create a common pedagogical structure for common courses Especially helpful for new faculty Invite adjunct faculty to attend orientation and other workshops ChallengesSolutions Resistance to change Lack of awareness Lack of time and resources Adjuncts are busy with split commitments Less investments Less orientation Administration Evaluation of teaching Technological issues
