Why Woe? Rejected revelation (John & Jesus) Worse than their “worst” list Judgment for souls

Is it fair of God to reveal Selectively? In varying degrees to different groups? God knows what it takes to lead to repentance, yet Sodom, Sidon & Tyre didn’t get the same chance as Israel God hides the key of repentance from proud people Why is MAN held responsible for this?

Do you DESERVE grace or mercy? Have you responded to light received?

The fairness questions aim at God Showing man’s pride Making man judge of God The grace questions aim at man Showing man’s sin Making God judge of man

Mercifully reveals God’s path (“little ones”) Praises God’s wisdom (cf. 11:19)

Job 28:28 And to man He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, And to depart from evil is understanding.’”

Psalm 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

Mercifully reveals God’s path (“little ones”) Praises God’s wisdom (cf. 11:19) Acknowledges His own divinity

Why Come? Gentle Jesus Approachable Jesus Rest for souls

Through the Doorway of Understanding Understand what? That repentance prevents judgment (20-24) Hidden from the “wise & understanding” (25) Revealed to the “little children” (25)

Jesus knows what IS and COULD be Jesus doesn’t OWE anyone revelation Punishment is weighted by opportunity
