Definitions

Fair Ball Key points 1.A bounding ball must be over fair ground when passing 1 st or 3 rd base 2.A ball in flight past the base must first hit in fair ground 3.A ball that does not pass 1 st or 3 rd base must settle or be touched by a player, umpire or their equipment in fair territory

Fair Ball Common mistakes 1.All of the line is in fair ground 2.All bases are in fair ground 3.The position of the player has no bearing on fair or foul * where is the ball when it is touched

Catch Key Points 1.Securing the ball in the hand or glove. 2.Catch must be completed i.e. voluntary release 3.The ball may be in control of a fielder while touching the ground but the ground can’t aid in control

SUBSTITUTE - DEFINITION Player who exhibits signs, symptoms or behaviors consistent with a concussion shall be removed from the game and shall not return to play until cleared by an appropriate health-care personnel. Re-entry rules apply.
