The way the scientists work Do you know the scientific method?

The scientific method is a way to ask and answer scientific questions by making observations and doing experiments. It works step by step. Would you be able to guess this steps? Pay attention and listen to the music... What is the scientific method?

Pay attention to the words... ●First of all we are going to listen a half of the video. ●After that we take our notebook. ●Now, we listen the rest of the video. ●They are going to repeat some times all the steps of scientific method. ●Now… we try to write down all the steps we can understand.

Now you have to work in couples. Compare your results with the ones of your partenaire. Have you guess any step?

Don’t worry… we are going to try it again. Now you only have words… the images aren’t going to distract you. Haven't you guess anyone?

1.Make… 2.Ask a… 3.Form a… 4.Do a… 5.Analyze… and draw... How many steps have you guessed?

Now, we are going to understand it with an example

The remote control of my TV doesn`t work. 1.Make an observation

Does it have enough batteries? 2.Ask a question

The batteries are run out, therefore if I change them remote control will work again. 3.Form a hypothesis and make a prediction

I change the batteries… 4. Do a test or experimentation

When I change the batteries the remote control works perfectly, therefore our hypothesis was right. 5. Analyze data and draw a conclusion

Now, It’s your turn...

1.Make an observation: I have missed my wallet: More examples...
