1. Participate in all District Coordinator Training opportunities 2. View all TETNs (Texas Education Telecommunications Network) – Collaborative training/updates offered by TEA and Pearson. THESE ARE KEY TO YOUR SURVIVAL 3. Read all published manuals and user guides – the DCCM, the, TAMS User Guide, and ALL Test Administrator Manuals – STAAR/EOC, TAKS, TELPAS, Field Test Directions manuals, etc. 4. Call your District Testing Coordinator to alert him of any irregularities no matter how small. 5. Communicate with critical departments in your district – Special Education, Bilingual/ESL, Section 504, and so forth. 6. Plan to co-facilitate training with other departments so everyone is on the same page.

 Serious Violations   Directly OR indirectly assisting students with responses to test questions   Tampering with student responses   Falsifying TELPAS holistic ratings or STAAR Alternate student performance data   Viewing secure test content before, during, or after an administration or viewing STAAR Alternate performance data during or after an assessment (unless specifically authorized to do so by the procedures outlined in the test administration materials)   Discussing secure test content, student responses, or student performance   Duplicating, recording, or capturing electronically secure test content without permission from TEA   Scoring student tests, either formally or informally

 Provide ALL Test Administrators with a training which specifically addresses Test Security. All others assisting with testing, such as Central Administration, technicians, or any clerical staff must also receive training in Test Security.   Traditional format such as ppt and discussion   E-Course (Eduphoria!) with features ensuring completion and accountability   Provide a pre-test to pique their interest and increase buy-in   Include scenarios; examples of common, procedural testing irregularities and serious irregularities.   Use the 2012 Test Security Supplement and the TEA web-based training modules as resources

 Plan your Testing Groups and Locations  Be Prepared for late Start Testing Groups  Attendance on Testing Day  Dealing with Absences on Testing Day  Breaks and STAAR Time limit  Lunch  Issuing and Checking in Test Materials  Encourage Questions from Faculty (Check for Understanding).  Learn Where your Helpful Resources Are.

 District trainings are mandatory  Must verify test materials within 48 hours (Complete? Damaged? Correct campus?)  Testing Storage Room must be secure and personnel with access must be limited  Due dates must be adhered to (additional orders, training campus staff, return of materials, etc.)  Every transaction of test materials is documented, i.e. district-to-district, district- to-campus, campus-to-campus

 District personnel who transport materials are authorized and understand the significance of keeping these materials secure.  Required documentation must be submitted (both TEA and District)  Return test materials to district by appointment  Campus Coordinators must be present at return appointment  One-on-one check in of scorable materials

 Unauthorized Viewing or Duplication of Materials  Providing Assistance  Discussing Confidential Information  Checking for Strategies  Scoring or Changing Student Responses

 ALL testing irregularities must be reported through the submission of a Student Assessment Division online report form by the District Test Coordinator.  ALL reports should be submitted within 10 days of the District Testing Coordinator being made aware of the incident.
