Who’s Affected? Anyone can get it; however those with fairer skin are more at risk, as are older people. Also, anyone who visits tanning booths or doesn’t apply sunscreen are at risk as well.
Prevention Follow important sun safety rules and avoid tanning booths. Also it is a good idea to examine your skin every so often.
Treatment In order to treat basal cell carcinoma one can get laser therapy, radiation therapy, topical chemotherapy, or Moh’s Surgery, which is a special type of surgery specifically designed for skin cancer, where the doctor removes one layer of skin at a time until the tumors are removed.
