Factbox There is plenty of food in the world to feed everybody. The problem is how that food is divided. In fact, more than one and a half times the amount of food needed to feed everybody in the world is produced each year. In times of famine, the problem is not that there is a shortage of food, but that people cannot afford to buy it or do not have access to it. Children die everyday from malnutrition. 800 million people in the world are under nourished.
