The flag of this state had two stars on it, so when Texas gained it's independence in 1836 they retained the same flag design, minus one star. Texas state was the lone star republic when it was the Republic of Texas and is now the Lone Star State.

Officially listed as the world's smallest skyscraper for decades, the structure is actually only 410 inches tall.
