There are 286 different types of shark. The biggest living shark is the whale shark and it grows to 50 meters long. The smallest shark is the Spined-dwarf shark and it only grows to 6 centimeters. Sharks are fish with cartilage instead of bone. Cartilage is a soft tissue that human noses and ears are made of.

Sharks eat a variety of different food including marine mammals like sea lions and seals. They don’t eat dolphins because they have been known to gang up on sharks and hurt or even kill them.

The Great White can grow to 6 metres long and weigh over 2000 KG. They are very fast and can swim up to 35 miles per hour. With 300 sharp, serrated teeth each over 6 centimetres long they are top notch killing machines.
