2 Fast facts Baby dolphins are calves
Grown up female dolphins are called cows Grown up male dolphins are called bulls Dolphins are mammals

3 Habitat Where dolphins live depends on their species
Dolphins migrate depending on where their food is They also live in harbors, bays, lagoons, gulfs, and tributaries

4 Adaptations Three adaptations are swimming ability, group hunting, and echolocation A dolphins long nose can help them kill sharks They need oxygen to help them breath under water

5 Food/Prey Dolphins are omnivores
Small dolphins eat krill, shrimp, sea plants, squid, and small fish Bigger dolphins eat other mammal such as sea lions and sea turtles

6 Predators A killer whale are enemies of dolphins
Some dolphins can kill sharks Larger sharks can eat dolphins

7 Life Span Dolphins can live up to 50 years in wild life
But they live only 17 years if they don’t live in wild life A bottle nose dolphin can live up to 40 or 50 years

8 Appearance A dolphin has a smooth rubbery body and a long bottle like nose. It has a tail which is webbed at the bottom. All dolphins have dorsal fins Dolphins have a single blowhole
