3 Sharks are cool animals. There are more than 370 species of sharks. They are a type of fish.

4 Hunting Sharks can kill seal or sea lions. They also eat dolphins and wee little fish. They chomp shrimp and tuna.

5 Sharks look amazing. The whale shark is the biggest shark. Some sharks are as huge as a pickup truck. Sharks do not have bones. Their skeleton is made of cartilage. Cartilage is a bendable tissue that helps them swim and hunt. They have a big fin on their back called a dorsal fin. It helps it balance. They have sharp teeth in their mouth. Some sharks have 3000 teeth.

6 Babies The baby sharks are called pups. The eggs are in a mermaids purse. Most sharks do not lay eggs. They give birth to their pups. Their mothers do not take care of them.

7 Where they live Sharks live in salt water. Some sharks live in rivers. Some live in caves in the sea. Some live in the sand.
