 Bookmarks - identifies a location or a selection of text that you name and identify for future reference so you can jump quickly to a specific location within the same document.  Hyperlink – a reference that opens or moves the user to a Web page, file, a new document, , or bookmark when you click it.  Watermark – a ghost image that appears behind the contents of a document.

 Index - lists the terms and topics discussed in a document along with the pages the appear on. Usually arranged alphabetically at the end of the document.  Table of Contents - a list of the parts of a document organized in the order in which the parts appear. Usually included at the beginning of the document.

 Drop cap – A letter or word at the beginning of paragraph that is larger than the rest of the text and is used to draw attention to the content.  Sidebar – text set off from the main body of text in a text box that provides additional information for the reader.

 Building blocks - galleries of predesigned parts used to enhance a document that can be saved and used again such as watermarks, title pages, cover pages, table of contents, etc.  Captions - text that appears below a graphic, figure, or clipart image used to describe the image.  Mail merge – a process that combines a document with information that personalizes it.  Citation – a reference in a document that credits the source of information or other content, such as a picture or a chart.

 Comments – an annotation that is added within a document or presentation by the author or reviewer.  Track changes – a tool in Word that keeps a record of any changes you or a reviewer makes in a document by formatting inserted text in a color and underlined, and deleted and moved text in a balloon in the right margin.

 Password – collection of characters that a user types to gain access to a file.  Digital signature – an attachment to a file or message certifying that the information in the file is authentic and safe.  Document properties – information about the file including title, author, keywords and more.
