Pre-Assessments Dates and times: The second week of June, we will be doing a quick assessment on each student that will be entering kindergarten next year. It will take approximately 15 minutes per student. We would love to complete all assessments within a couple of days. We will be assessing on: Monday, June 9 from 7:00-3:00 Tuesday, June 10 from 10:00-6:00

School Supplies WLES PTA is selling school supply packs for $43.00 and orders are due by June 5. Will be delivered to your child’s classroom on Meet the Teacher night Saves time and money at beginning of school year If you are purchasing supplies not pre-packaged, please bring them to Meet the Teacher night. Save time on Meet the Teacher night by pre-labeling everything with your child’s name

Beginning of Year Events Meet the Teacher Night Thursday, August 21, 2014, 5:00-6:30 Bring your supplies if you did not order from the school. If you did order supplies from the school, they will be waiting in your classroom for you. Curriculum Night, Thursday, August 28, 2014, 5:30-6:15 Parents only please. Your teacher will be reviewing important things happening in Kindergarten. Your teacher will be going through the Kindergarten Handbook. You will not want to miss this meeting!   First Day of School, August 25, 2014 You may walk your Kindergartner to their classroom the first day of school (quick goodbyes are best).   The rest of the week, you will need to drop them off in the cafeteria.

Lunch and Cafeteria Children may bring their lunch or purchase a tray lunch.  Tray lunch for a child costs $2.45 currently (may change) Breakfast costs $1.00 currently Milk costs .75 currently Ice Cream is sold on Fridays – costs .75 currently Two ways to pay for your child’s lunch:    Online at www.parentonline.com Send a check or cash in a baggie with your child’s name to your child’s teacher Free or reduced lunch forms will be available. You may come to eat lunch with your child at the guest table.  Your child  may choose one friend to sit with them.  Adult meals cost $3.25 currently.

Is My Child Ready? Things to consider: Has your child already acquired most of the skills listed? Your child’s birthday. (Just because they are 5 years old by September 1, does not always mean they are ready for kindergarten.)
