IF-ITB/PAT/03Aug25 IF7074 –Business Plan Page 2 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The Executive summary is not an abstract of the business plan. The Executive summary is not an introduction of the business plan. The Executive summary is not a preface. The Executive summary is not a random collection of highlights

IF-ITB/PAT/03Aug25 IF7074 –Business Plan Page 3 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY A business concept that makes sense. A clear plan for success. A capable management team. A clear, specific, and definable market. Significant competitive advantages. A solid and believable summary of the financial projections. An excellent chance for investors/lenders to receive a healthy return. “Business Plan in miniature”

IF-ITB/PAT/03Aug25 IF7074 –Business Plan Page 4 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Points to cover: The current status of your business. A description of your products or services. Information about your target market and your means for reaching it. The strengths inherent in your business that will enable it to achieve its objectives. Your short term and long-terms plan. Financial projections. The amount of money, if any, you are currently seeking.

IF-ITB/PAT/03Aug25 IF7074 –Business Plan Page 5 OBJECTIVES ÞState the business's Objectives in term of the results it needs/wants to achieve in the medium/long term. Þobjectives should relate to the expectations and requirements of all the major stakeholders, including employees, and should reflect the underlying reasons for running the business.

IF-ITB/PAT/03Aug25 IF7074 –Business Plan Page 7 MISSION The mission and vision statements set the tone for not only your business plan, but also for your company. They define the path your company will follow and act as a guiding principle by which your company functions. “Reason for being”

IF-ITB/PAT/03Aug25 IF7074 –Business Plan Page 8 KEY TO SUCCESS Every business has different keys to success. There are a few key factors that make the difference between success and failure.

IF-ITB/PAT/03Aug25 IF7074 –Business Plan Page 9 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY COMMON MISTAKES “Business Plan in miniature” Failing to outline the terms of the investment sought after. Lacking a specific focus. Too long and wordy, and failing to get to the point. Failing to demonstrate a special or unique opportunity. Failing to generate enthusiasm in the reader.

IF-ITB/PAT/03Aug25 IF7074 –Business Plan Page 10 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY SUGGESTIONS Limit your executive summary to a maximum of 3 pages (at the very most). Focus on the opportunity you are presenting your investor and explain why it is special. Make certain that the opinions and claims in your executive summary are fully supported in the other sections of your business plan. Attempt to use only concrete facts and figures that explain your business concept, market niche and financial projections. Don't forget to include the details of your investment (amount, what you will spend it on, return). Consider who your reader is most likely to be, why they are reading your business plan, and the response you hope to generate.
