 Dr.Rajendra Prasad was the first President of India. He was born on December 3,1884 in the Siwan district of bihar.His father was Mahadev Sahey and mother was kamleshwari Devi.  Dr.Rajendra Prasad played a prominent role in the Indian freedom movement.

 At the age of 5,he was sent to a school and when he was 12 years old, he married Rajvanshi Devi.  Dr.Rajendra Prasad was a brilliant student throughout school and college. He completed his Doctorate in Law to attain the title, Dr. Rajendra Prasad.

 In the April 1917 Dr.Rajendra Prasad met Mahatma Gandhi. He took active part in various activities with Mahatma Gandhi and other leaders for the freedom of India. Such as Jawaharlal Nehru,Subas Chandra Bose,Sardar Vallav Bhai Patel,Maulana Azad and many more. ggggas

 Dr.Rajendra Prasad was the first leading political figure in the Eastern provinces. He wrote articles for Searchlight and the Desh and collected funds for these newspapers.

 On August 15,1947 India became free. Earlier, in July 1946,a constituent assembly was formed to frame the constitution of India and Dr.Rajendra Prasad was elected its President.

 On January 26,1950,the constitution was ratified and Dr. Rajendra Prasad was elected the first President of the independent India.

Finally, on February 28,1963,this great soul passed away. He was awarded the Bharat Ratna,the highest civilian award of the nation.
