By : Lindsey Davis

Education and Training Dietitians need at least a bachelor's degree in the food service systems management, dietetics, and foods and nutrition. Students that are in college who are in these majors take courses in foods, nutrition, institution management, chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology, biology, and psychology. Other suggested courses include business, mathematics, statistics, computer science, sociology, psychology, and economics

Prospects for the Future Dieticians are expected to grow for all jobs through 2018, but in nursing care facilities, they are expected to decrease slightly within the next few years. The higher population will increase the need for meals and nutritious treatment in nursing homes, community health programs, schools, prisons, and home health care agencies as well.

Dietician Salary Dietitians are expected to earn an annual salary of $52,150 each year

Positive and Negatives of the Dietician Career Some of the negative things about being a dietician is that the job gets difficult when you’re trying to improve someone’s health by helping them losing weight or even help them keep a healthy heart, when all they want is to stay on their path of eating nothing but junk food all their life. Some of the positive things about being a dietician is that when you patient listens, you can start to see a difference in them. You can see that they are losing weight, getting healthier, and also they are becoming more happy and joyful people because of it.
