ADD is a Neurophysiological genetic disorder that tends to run in families. It is a diagnosable, treatable,biologically based disorder

**There are 3 primary Symptoms of ADD** ~Decreased ability to pay attention/control focus on activities ~Increased motor activity ~Difficulty controlling there impulses

Forgetful in daily activities Easily distracted Does not appear to listen Difficulty with organization Difficulty sustaining attention *** Normal forgetfulness and daydreaming is NOT ADD

Difficulty remaining seated Talks excessively Difficulty remaining quiet during activities Interrupts and Intrudes Acts as driven by a motor Difficulty waiting in turn

Defined by an individual meeting both sets of attention and hyperactive/impulsive criteria

Defined by an individual who demonstrates some characteristics but an not enough symptoms to reach a full diagnosis. These symptoms disrupt everyday life.

~Children with ADD are at risk for school failure, ~ Emotional difficulties ~Significant, negative adult outcome in comparison to their peers. ~* Early identification and treatment has lets children overcome many of the ADD problems and achieve success *~

ADD occurs in 3%-5% of children in the U.S.A Males are 5 to 7 times more likely to be diagnosed than females 2% to 3% of adults have some levels 30% of individuals with ADD have some type of learning disability

ADD occurs in people of every intelligence ADD was founded in 1897 by concerned parents 50% of children with ADD are never diagnosed 3%-5% of school population have ADD People with ADD frequently have talents and capabilities that others don’t have. ADD is diagnosed when at least 9 symptoms from both sets of subtypes are diagnosed

ADD is Chronic Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Pediatricians, and Neurologists are the only Medical doctors that can diagnose ADD Beethoven, Mozart, and Einstein had ADD
